Cayenne
Cayenne (Capsicum anuum) is a pungent compound that provides red pigment and heat to our tastebuds. Containing several vitamins such as vitamin A and vitamin C. For generations cayennes unique chemical properties has and continues to provide a number of health benefits. The heat from this pepper makes it perfect for breaking up congestion, clearing mucus, circulating the blood, muscle pain, stiffness, swelling sore joints, toothaches, and helping with cramping and diarrhea.
It’s commonly used as a tonic. A warm glass of lemon water and a dash of cayenne pepper is perfect for the morning. It’s a great way to start your day! For those who tend to feel very warm should use cayenne sparingly as it could aggravate an already internal condition. We can find it in different forms such as powder, capsule, tea, tincture, and oil.
Try this sauce for marinating your choice of meat or as a dipping sauce for any side dish you desire!
Homemade Cayenne Pepper Sauce
Ingredients: 10oz cayenne chili peppers, 5-6 cloves garlic, 1/2 cup white wine vinegar, 1 tsp salt (more to taste).
Instructions: Chop the cayenne peppers along with garlic & add them to a pot with vinegar & 1 tsp of salt. Bring the mix to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer everything for 20 minutes. Cool the mixture slightly, then transfer it to a food processor or blender. Process it until the sauce is nice & smooth. Strain the sauce through a fine sieve if you’d like a smoother sauce, or pour it into bottles as-is for a thicker sauce.
