Dr. Liberty Hunter

Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Liberty Hunter earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University California in San Diego in 2024. She is currently completing her residency at Wild Oak Medicine under the mentorship of Dr. Holder and Dr. Riegle and is about to begin her second year. Her clinical focus includes environmental medicine, oncology support, neurological conditions, and complex chronic illness.

During medical school, Dr. Liberty completed a preceptorship with Dr. Holder and Dr. Riegle, an experience that helped shape her interest in treating complex cases and deepened her commitment to environmental medicine, detoxification, and the impact of toxic exposures on long-term health. As part of her work at Wild Oak Medicine, she has also developed a strong interest in research related to toxicology, including participation in firefighter detoxification study programs.

Dr. Liberty’s passion for both nature and healthcare began early in life. As a child, she could often be found in the horse pastures, studying flowers and plants and applying what she learned from veterinary books to her horses, gently massaging buds and stems into their hair in hopes of improving their health and well-being. That curiosity eventually evolved into a deeper interest in the relationship between nature and healing.

While studying at UC Davis, a medical volunteer trip to Central America became a turning point. There she recognized the importance of a holistic approach to medicine that considers lifestyle, diet, emotional well-being, and community as essential parts of care. This experience ultimately led her to pursue naturopathic medicine.

Dr. Liberty remains passionate about therapies that support the body’s innate healing processes. She has pursued additional training in IV therapy, biofeedback, craniosacral therapy, and reiki, and continues to integrate hands-on and energetic modalities alongside her other use of lifestyle changes, botanical medicine, supplementation, and hydrotherapy in her clinical work.

She now lives along the Russian River with her partner, Dio, and their maltipoo, Tansy. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys live music, spending time outdoors, and exploring the rivers and landscapes of Northern California. Dr. Liberty is grateful to continue learning within the Wild Oak Medicine community and is honored to support patients on their healing journeys.
