Dr. Liberty Hunter

Pre-licensed Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Liberty Hunter earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University California, located in San Diego, in 2024. Following her graduation, she joined the Wild Oak Medicine team, where she currently serves as a medical assistant while completing her final licensing exams. During her academic training, she gained valuable experience through a preceptorship with Dr. Holder and Dr. Riegle, deepening her interest and expertise in environmental medicine and its critical impact on health.

Dr. Liberty’s passion for both nature and healthcare was evident from a young age. As a child, she would often be found in the horse pastures, applying her knowledge of flowers and plants—deemed safe from veterinary books—to her horses by massaging buds and stems into their fur, hoping to improve their well-being. This early curiosity evolved into a lifelong commitment to health, though it wasn't until a medical volunteer trip to Central America during her undergraduate studies at UC Davis, that she discovered her true calling. It was here that she realized the importance of a holistic approach to medicine—one that considers a person's lifestyle, diet, emotional state, and community in their care. This realization led her to the field of naturopathic medicine, where she has found her professional home.

Dr. Liberty is dedicated to helping her patients uncover the root causes of their health concerns, while promoting self-nourishment, education, and a sense of community. She has pursued additional trainings in biofeedback, craniosacral therapy, and reiki, with a particular passion for utilizing herbal medicine and hydrotherapy as part of her practice.

Recently, Dr. Liberty relocated to Sonoma County with her partner, Dio, and maltipoo, Tansy. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys attending music events and exploring the natural beauty of the area, so you may find her at a local show or down by the river. Dr. Liberty is eager to continue learning from her colleagues at Wild Oak Medicine and looks forward to providing exceptional care to her patients.
